All About Me:

Hi! I'm Mrs. Thomas. I was born in Russia. I immigrated to the United States when I was 4 years old, so English was not my first language.I am married and have 3 boys, 2 dogs, and 1 bearded dragon. My oldest son graduated from UT, my middle son attends UT, and my youngest has just graduated from East View and is attending UTSA.I graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in International Economics and a minor in Marketing. I used to work in finance and realized how much I enjoyed being around children when I was my boys’ room mom, so I went through an alternative teaching certification program. This will be my 11th year teaching 1st grade and my 7th year in Dual Language.

I know the expectations I have for my own kids, so I will strive to give 110% to yours!

Beth Allen

Hi! My name is Beth Allen and this is my 18th year at Annie Purl, my 22nd year of teaching in GISD. I grew up in Austin and received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Austin. I have lived in Georgetown for 30 years, where my three daughters were raised. They all attended Georgetown schools beginning in Kindergarten, and all graduated from Georgetown High School. I hold certifications in General Education, Special Education, and ESL (English as a Second Language).

I look forward to teaching your child this year! Please feel free to email me, or call me at 512-943-5000 ext. 6866. If you need to make changes to your child's transportation dismissal, please call the office by 2:00. They will notify me as soon as possible. My conference time is 1:30-2:15.

¡Bienvenidos!

Hola, mi nombre es Araceli Covington y es un verdadero placer el trabajar con pequeños de primer grado. Aún más emocionante es enseñar con el programa de Lenguaje Dual que el distrito ha adaptado.

Será un año lleno de diversión, así como también lleno de aprendizaje. Tengo muchas ganas de conocer a mis futuros estudiantes y a sus familias.

Acerca de mí

Llegue al magistrado por accidente, gracias a que mi hija Ashley, me pidió que fuera voluntaria en su escuela. Diecisiete años después, sigo trabajando en la escuela. Algo que verdaderamente me apasiona.

Tengo una licenciatura de Químico Bacteriólogo Parasitólogo que obtuve en mi Alma Mater, Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, en México. También cursé una maestría en Cultura y Lengua Española de mi segunda Alma Mater en la Universidad de Salamanca en España.

Hello, my name is Araceli Covington and it is a pleasure to work with little first graders.

I am very excited about the upcoming year! It will be a year full of fun as well as a year full of learning. I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of my new students and their families.

About me

Thanks to Ashley, my daughter, I became a teacher. She asked me to volunteer at her school and I discovered my passion. Seventeen years later, I am still very happy to teach in a classroom full of children eager to learn.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Microbiology from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, in México. I also have a Master Degree in Culture and Spanish Language from the University of Salamanca Spain.
