Greetings!  Welcome to the ECSE 3 year old program at Annie Purl.  I am Beth Gallo, the ECSE 3  teacher.  I am originally from the Finger Lake Region of New York State.  I attended Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA where I received a B.A. in Special Education and Elementary  Education.  I received an M.A. in Deaf Education/Language Development from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.  Before moving to Georgetown, my husband and I lived on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  We are fortunate to have our children and their families in the area.  Mike and I are loving grandparenting!

I look forward to teaching your child.  Every day in Early Childhood is a day filled with wonder.  I look forward to working closely with you to help your child reach his/her maximum potential.

About Me:

My name is Miss Isabella DiRuggiero or Miss D! I am one of the ECSE 4 year old teachers at Annie Purl Elementary school. I am originally from Newark, Delaware then later moved to Georgetown, Texas. I attended Texas Christian University where I received my B.S in Elementary Education (EC-6th) and my Masters in Special Education. I have always wanted to become a teacher since I was in elementary school and specifically wanted to work in special education because of my close connection with my oldest brother who has autism.

About me:

My name is Shavawn Gibbs.  I was raised in Georgetown and attended K-12th in GISD.  I come from a long line of teachers who value education and its importance. I love learning and teaching! I am dyslexic and school was hard for me. However, I did not give up because it is not in my nature to do so. I succeeded in high school and in college. I graduated from Texas State with honors in December 2015.  I also worked at a daycare with toddlers and two-year-olds. I student taught at Annie Purl Elementary with Ellen Jorgensen in the fall of 2015. I worked in Title with Kindergarten through Second grade Math and Reading.  I was a paraprofessional in Pre-Kindergarten in Katie Rueter’s class in the fall of 2016. In the spring of 2017, I became a teacher in Pre-Kindergarten at Annie Purl. This is my second and half year as a teacher at Purl and in Pre-Kindergarten. I married my high school sweetheart Doug. My husband and I had our first baby at the end of October. :) I cannot wait to get started!

My philosophy on early childhood education:

I believe play, exploration, and having a variety of experiences are important for children. Early childhood education helps shape who children will become. I will be a guide to help them along their journey during this important stage of their lives. I love the idea of children experiencing new things. Children want to learn and as a teacher, one must give them the tools to explore the world around them.

Mi nombre es Aileen Orlandi y soy de Puerto Rico. Estoy casada y tengo un niño de 7 años y una niña de 4. Llevo 11 años viviendo en Texas. Estudie Administración de Hoteles y Restaurantes en la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Tengo una maestría en Turismo y otra en Relaciones Laborales. Obtuve mi certificación como maestra de Texas en Texas Teachers. Este es mi sexto año trabajando en Annie Purl y mi noveno año como maestra.  Me gusta viajar y pasar tiempo como mi familia.

About me:

My name is Aileen Orlandi and I am from Puerto Rico. I am married and have a 7 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. This is my sixth year working at Annie Purl and my ninth year as a teacher. I studied Hospitality Management at the University of Puerto Rico. I have a master degree in Tourism and another one in Human Resource. I obtained my teacher certification at Texas Teachers. I love to travel and spend time with my family.
